Carolyn Raye Krause

Carolyn Krause, age 70, passed away on January 6, 2021. Carolyn was a long-time resident of Arizona where she lived for over 40 years. She resided in Surprise, Arizona the past 20 years. Carolyn was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Jack and Margaret Summerville.

Carolyn graduated from Naperville Central High School in Naperville, Illinois in 1967. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, in 1972. She later received a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition from the University of Arizona in 1986. Carolyn worked for the Arizona Court of Appeals for several years before retiring in 2010.

Carolyn was an avid hiker. She especially enjoyed exploring the mountain ranges of Tucson. After retiring, she grew to love crocheting and became quite accomplished at it. The lovely Christmas gifts that she crocheted for her family every year will be long cherished.

Carolyn will be remembered by her family as a gentle, caring and loving person. She was always selfless and put her family before herself to make sure they were taken care of.

She will be missed and forever loved by her family.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Nik Krause, and her two brothers, Stephen Summerville and John Summerville.

Carolyn will be laid to rest in East Lawn Cemetery in Tucson, Arizona.
