

Esperanza Ruelas who loved to be called “ Hopi “ went to rest peacefully on Thursday, July 7th, at 6:55 pm after hearing her favorite song “ En La Cruz “ being sung by her daughter & granddaughter. Esperanza was born in Akron, Michigan in September 19th, 1938; to her parents Remijio Solis & Pilar Delgado and a large family. Esperanza also built her large family at the side of Lorenzo who she met by stepping in a pot of beans,while working in her mother's food wagon. Esperanza gave birth to 6 Boys & 6 Girls. Esperanza is survived by a long life partner of 68 years Lorenzo Ruelas and by her 9 kids, Lorenzo Jr., Jessie , Joe, Fernando , Pilar, Isabel, Maria, Solida and Carmen. Esperanza left a legacy of 60 grandchildren, 141 Great Grandchildren, and 26 Great- Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two sons, Tony and Remijio, and her daughter, Lupe. She was known for being that Motherly Figure for anyone that stepped through the door, she was a Great Mother and a Fantastic Grandmother. Esperanza will be remembered always for watching her Cowboy TV shows and having the volume at the highest it could go. We know we couldn't keep you forever and we are sad to see you leave, you will be missed but you will also be in peace and resting. Say Hi to everyone and we will see you all soon. We Love you mom , nana and like my dad says “Esperanza”.
A funeral service for Esperanza will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Golden Door, 11211 Michigan Ave, Youngtown, AZ 85363. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at 0387 - Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301.
