Jim was born September 12, 1946 in Worthington, MN to Arlton and Donna Danielson. Jim graduated from South Dakota State with a degree in Civil Engineering. Jim served in the United States Army and was stationed in Vietnam and earned a bronze star. He retired as a Colonel in the Army Corp of Engineers Reserves after 30 years of service, receiving the Army Legion of Merit. He worked for the City of Mendota Heights as a Professional Engineer for 32 years retiring as the City Administrator.
He loved his wife and kids and was generous to everyone. He loved to spend time with family and friends and always had a story to tell. He enjoyed gardening, hiking, traveling, taking pictures, spending time at his northern MN cabin, and home in AZ with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Charlene, and his five children Theresa (Phil), Renee, Alicia (Ryan), Mark, Julie (Brian), and nine grandchildren.
At his request, no service will be held.
