Jamie was my best friend from about 6th grade through high school. She was like my sister.  We lost touch with each other when she was in the military and I got married and moved.  Now and then I have looked on facebook for her, but with no photos and not being positive of her last name we never reconnected.  I am devastated I did not try harder.  I have spent the last 2 days in tears wishing for one more good talk and giggling session.   We always had a great time together and what one of us couldn't think up the other one could.  She was that friend where no words were needed.  We just knew how the other was feeling whether that meant crying together. laughing together or being willing to bitch slap anyone that hurt one of us.  I still have all of our letters and even notes we passed in class.  They are an even greater treasure today.  I will always love and miss you my sweet friend.

My next door neighbor for the past year.  I miss the rustle of the card shuffler, the quiet conversations, the laughter, and the daily greetings as I passed by.   Rest in peace, sweet lady.  You are missed.

Jamie was the absolute greatest. She was one of the most influential people in my life during my teenaged years and into my early 20s. She taught me so much of what I know of being an adult in the lives of children: bringing humor, wisdom, and unconditional love and acceptance. I have modeled much of my career in education after her example in my own life. The world is smaller and lesser without her. My heart is with her beloved family.

You never think about the one more. I only had one more Halloween with you, one more Christmas, just one more. That’s all I want it just one more. Love you mama

Jamie, you've been such a beautiful friend who has treated me like one of your own kids from the very beginning. Thank you for the decades of friendship and direction. Finally, you can rest. I'll keep an eye on the kids for ya. Love you, Lady.
