Norman Earl Higgs passed away peacefully in Sun City, AZ on December 9, 2013. Norman was born to Nellie (Martin) and William Higgs in Dallas, Texas on August 6, 1933. He obtained a Master’s degree in Education and for many years was Principal at Durango 9-R Public Schools for 33 years. He had made his home in the Valley of the Sun for the last 14 years. He enjoyed, golf, archery, skiing, fishing and traveling. He was a member of the Congregational Church of Sun City and Pebble Brook Golf Club. Norman is survived by his devoted wife of 29 years, Sarah Jane Higgs; children Garry, Joel and Michael and Rebecca Higgs; step-children Mark Liebig & Michelle Liebig-Harris; grandchildren Micah, Alex, Katie, Norman Anthony, Josh, James, Sarah, Amanda, Mandy, Sarah Elaine, Ashleigh, Dylan, Devin and 14 Great grandchildren; brother Wayne Higgs and sister Shirley Williamson. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In leiu of flowers memorial donations may be made to CCSC Memorial Fund at 18401 N. 99th Ave., Sun City, AZ 85373.
