Phyllis Anne Schilcher

Surprise, AZ — Phyllis Schilcher, age 87, a long-time resident of the Caddie Vista, WI and most recently Surprise, AZ passed away peacefully Tuesday the 7th of June 2016 at her home in Surprise, AZ surrounded by her family.

Phyllis is survived by her husband of 68 years, Emerson Schilcher; her children Stanley Schilcher, Steven Schilcher (Hye-Suk), Stuart Schilcher (Rose); her grandchildren Tracy Simental, Kari Hoyle (John), Jeremy Schilcher (Melissa), Jody Oestereich (Chad), Dawn Shaw (Dalbert), Michele Enk (Bruce), John Herrera (Nicole), Jackie (Rich), Shannon (Michael); also 27 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Irving and Amanda Haferbecker, Virgina McKeon (sister), Allen Haferbecker (brother), Jane Schmidt (sister), Susan Kay Schilcher (daughter), Christine Schilcher (daughter-in-law).

Phyllis was born on June 3, 1929 in Antigo, WI to Irving and Amanda Haferbecker. She graduated from Antigo High School in 1947. She married Emerson Schilcher on Nov 15, 1947. Phyllis spent most of her career as a nurse's aid at St. Francis Hospital in Milwaukee, WI and also a home caregiver in Caledonia, WI and Phoenix, AZ.

A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, June 10, 2016 at 10am at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services located at 11211 W. Michigan Avenue · Youngtown, AZ 85363. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Phyllis's life. The family would like to thank Stuart and Rose Schilcher for all their efforts, support, and caregiving.
