Susan Mascenik Harkness, 67, of Surprise, AZ, formerly of Deland, FL, died suddenly on Saturday, November 22, 2025, in Banner Del E Webb Medical Center. Born and raised in Roselle, NJ, Susan spent her life there before moving to Deland, FL in 2017 to be with family. She was a 1975 graduate of Abraham Clark High School in Roselle, NJ, and eventually went on to graduate Union County College with her business degree in 1996. Susan moved to Surprise, AZ in 2025 where she was able to retire and spend her days with her family, especially her grandson, JT. She loved riding her motorcycle, and being in the kitchen baking cookies with her grandson. She was always a kind and generous person with a contagious smile, and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Susan was the devoted mother of Elizabeth Michael, whom she adored, and son in-law Jonathan; dearest sister of Richard, Joseph, Steven, and Paul; and loving “granny” of Jonathan Thomas and Mia Isabel. She also leaves behind her partner of many years, Angel.
