Armida G. Figueroa

Armida G. Figueroa was born on April 13th, 1961, in Ruiz, Nayarit, Mexico. She was the daughter to Agustin Garcia Vallejo and Socorro Gomez Flores. Armida was one of ten siblings. They lived in Tijuana, Mexico before immigrating to Yucaipa, California at the age of 14.

In 1975 while living in Yucaipa, Armida met Jose Vasquez Figueroa. Three months later, they married each other at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Redlands, California. Armida and Jose bought their first home in Yucaipa in 1981, had three beautiful children, and were later blessed with five grandchildren. They recently celebrated their 45-year wedding anniversary together with family.

Armida worked at McAnally Egg Enterprises in Yucaipa for several years before moving to Sorenson Engineering in Yucaipa as a Machine Technician. She was a valued team member and was instrumental to the success of Sorenson Engineering. She would say on a regular basis how much she loved her job and coworkers. Armida worked at Sorenson Engineering for 35 years and was planning to retire soon. One of Armida’s most proud accomplishments was when she became a United States Citizen in 1996. She loved her new country and the town of Yucaipa where she raised her family.

After becoming a grandmother, Armida treasured every moment spending time with her grandkids and was very proud of them all. Family values were strong with Armida, she raised her children with the same core values that were passed onto her and was proud of all their accomplishments. Armida enjoyed family gatherings and spending time laughing with her family and friends. Armida was the foundation and was the moral compass of the family.

Armida was always helping others when they were in need, even when they said no. She was loved by many people to whom she touched their hearts by her generosity and selfless acts. Thinking of others first before herself was the definition of Armida. She was full of kindness, integrity, honesty, generosity, courage, and patience. She was truly an angel in the physical life and now she is our ever-lasting angel in spirit.

Armida is survived by her husband Jose, son Jose Alberto, daughters Anna & Armida, grandchildren Andrew, Dylan, Gabriel, Dominic, & Audrina, daughter in law Erica, son in law James & Bobby, sisters Sandra, Ana, Antonia, Bertha, & Araceli, and brothers Francisco, Martin, Luis, & Jose.

A visitation for Armida will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Weaver-Hughes Chapel, 33629 Yucaipa Blvd, Yucaipa, California 92399. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, 12687 California St, Yucaipa, California 92399.

Armida will be laid to rest in Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 11251 Desert Lawn Drive, Calimesa, California 92320.
