Kerina was born in Perth, Australia, in 1969. She worked for a few years in accounting before backpacking the world twice, once with a friend in 1991 and then again with her boyfriend, Nathan, in 1995/6. She worked in a bank in London and a nanny in Wales, got her chef trade certificate in Australia and worked as a chef in Australia and Canada as well as running her own catering company. She loved traveling and was always up for an adventure, albeit with a preference for a little pre-planning.
She moved to California in 1999, now married to Nathan, where they made their home. They filled it with two lovely and caring daughters – Katja in 2000 and Sofia in 2005 – and hosted friends and family from near and far. Her cooking skills were the stuff of legend and she made wonderful friends who were drawn to her bright and caring spirit. Kerina took on the front office of White Chiropractic in 2018 where everyone who met her were amazed by her openness and compassion. And her awesome powers of organization.
In July 2020, Kerina was diagnosed with grade-4 brain cancer (glioblastoma) and fought it with everything she had. Kerina passed peacefully on September 25, 2022, surrounded by her husband, children, and parents (Bob and Patti). She is being missed terribly every day.
In her words “Don’t just live, live life! I loved my life, don’t let it slip away”.
