Laurie Darlene Hunt

Laurie Darlene Hunt was born Aug. 11, 1964, in San Luis Obispo to Richard and Nancy-Bea Simmons. She passed away May 11, 2017 at Loma Linda Medical Center. Laurie lived her entire life in Yucaipa, attending Yucaipa Elementary, Middle and High Schools. She completed her education at Crafton Hills College with an Associate of Arts degree.She was married to Ron Hunt (now deceased) in 1994.During her life, Laurie was primarily a homemaker, but she also worked as a freelance florists as well as a behind-the-scenes assistant in firefighting. Laurie is survived by her daughter Kara Rose Hunt; father Richard “Red” Simmons and his wife Donna; mother Nancy-Bea Weldon and brothers Dr. Michael L. Simmons and his wife Nora and Ron S. Simmons and his wife Vicki. She was devoted to her family, especially when it came to attending her daughter’s sports activities. Laurie will be remembered for her outgoing, warm personality and as a person who didn’t know a stranger. She was always smiling and making people happy. She will be sorely missed.
