Mary Magdalena Thorig

Mary Magdalena Thorig, age 93, of Yucaipa, California passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, November 5, 2021. Mary Thorig, a native of the Netherlands Indies, now called Indonesia, emigrated with her husband and three sons from Holland to the USA in 1961.

Mary was married to Charles Thorig for 67 years and joined him on his many travels for his employments in Indonesia, Brazil and The Netherlands. Together they decided to emigrate to the USA for a better life and the future of their three sons, Dennis, Raymond and Jerry. They started in Indiana and later moved to California.

Mary was a very dedicated wife and mother who puts family values and needs first. Her goal was always to be there where the family is to support and to solve possible needs and problems with an understanding approach.

Mary was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Evansville, Indiana, Alhambra and Yucaipa.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Charles. She is survived by her sons Dennis and wife Darleen, Raymond and wife Vicki, Jerry and wife Jackie. Also including seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and many relatives in Holland.

A memorial service for Mary will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Weaver-Hughes Chapel, 33629 Yucaipa Blvd, Yucaipa, California 92399.
