

Arthur Garcia, 77, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012 with his family at his side. He was born January 15, 1935 in Yuma, Arizona.
He joined the U.S. Navy in 1954. He toured all over the world with the Seabee's until his retirement after 20 years as an E01,
Petty officer 1st class. Then retired as a heavy equipment operator at Point Mugu Base from civil service. He graduated from Yuma High in 1954.
Some of Arthur's interests and hobbies included hunting fishing, carpentry, models, Bonsai plants, toy trains, softball, and he was a modern day Renaissance man. If he liked it, he did it, because Seabees can do!
Arthur is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Katie M. Garcia; daughters, Teri (Gregory Sr.) County, and Carmen M. Garcia; sisters, Armida (Bill) Amabisca, Natalie (Richard) Dulac, Julie (Robbie) Roberts, Olivia Lunsford, Lucille Wagner, Dolores (Donald) Bussell; brothers, Edward (Pamela) Garcia, and Alfred (Judy) Garcia, as well as seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Jay Garcia; parents, Cruz and Carmen Garcia; sister and brother-in-law, Alfred and Eleanor Ramirez.
Visitation will be held at Johnson Mortuary February 12, 2012 at 4:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 5:00 P.M. A service will be held at Johnson Mortuary February 13, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. with Monseigneur O'Keeffe is officiating. His final resting place will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Kevin, Ryan, Todd Fleener, Tim Wagner, and Gregory and Michael County. Honorary pallbearers will be William "Red" Phillips, Donald Bussell, Don Phipps, Joe Aguilar, and Leo Santa Cruz.
