

Charles retired from the city of Yuma after 36 years. He also worked at the Crest Drive in and Yuma Theaters as a carpenter. He began his carpentry career while working with his father Floyd at Carlisle School in Somerton, AZ and building homes.
Along with his carpentry skills he enjoyed going to Tumco, Dome Valley and the Patton Army Camps in his old Army Jeep. Charles loved his family; his grandsons were the light of his life.
Charles is survived by his daughters, Debbie (Jeff) Pence of Wellton, AZ; Renee Marohl of Wisconsin; his son, Trevor (Melanie); grandsons, Stephen (Francela), Nicholas (Luiza), Taylour, great-grandson, Bradlee James and great-granddaughters, Angelique and born on the day of his passing, Natawlly Leonie of Yuma. Brothers-in-law, Sam (Glynda) McCall of Sun City, AZ, Jo McCall of Bakersfield, CA; cousins, Helen Beshears, Pat Creek and John Charles (J.C.) Reed; dear friend, Fred Ott and his dogs Paco and Kiesha.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife Sandra, of Yuma, his parents Floyd and Effie Heaton, and brother James, all of Somerton, AZ.
Charles wishes were to be cremated and his ashes spread in Oatman, AZ along with his beloved dogs that have passed away.
A Memorial is planned for Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 2pm at the family home, 2163 6th Ave. Please join us in Honoring this wonderful man, father and husband.
