Daniel "Danny" Marron III was welcomed into the world on November 1, 1977, in Yuma, Arizona, by his parents Daniel and Frances Marron, and his older sister, Priscilla. Danny grew up in the Christian faith attending church with his family.
From a young age, Danny's love for baseball flourished, nurtured by his father's coaching. He was a proud graduate of Yuma High School, the University of Arizona, where he earned a bachelor's degree in psychology, and Northern Arizona University, where he earned both a master's degree in counseling and a master's degree in school counseling. As a young adult, Danny dedicated much of his love and time to his nephew, nieces, and extended family.
Danny's career as an educator and counselor spanned twenty-three years, during which he profoundly impacted countless lives of students in the Yuma Union High School District from 2002 to 2022 where he worked as a high school teacher and counselor. He also taught part-time at Arizona Western College 2004-2022. In 2022, he transitioned to a full-time role as a psychology professor at Arizona Western College, where he continued to inspire and mentor students.
Beyond his professional work, Danny was deeply committed to his faith. Danny would often say that his "life verses" were Philippians 4:13 and Proverbs 3:5-6. Baptized together in 2011, Danny and Aryca started their missionary work journey. Danny served as an assistant pastor at Bibleway Church from 2012 to 2015, led youth programs at Stone Ridge Church from 2010 to 2023, and sponsored the AWC Christian Club from 2022 to 2023. He also dedicated time to mentoring young people through Youth for Christ at the high school level from 2008 to 2022. Danny also served in the Kids Ministry, where his daughter Luna regularly attended Stone Ridge Church.
Danny was married to Aryca for twenty years, and together, they cherished their daughter, Luna. Over the years, he embraced fatherhood with unwavering love and dedication. Danny was always hands-on, attending every event and supporting Luna in every aspect of her life, from her first dance class at 2-years-old to her athletic pursuits. Danny was a regular customer at Luna's spa days where she pampered him with skin care routines and painted nails. He cheered her on at every turn, coaching her softball team and encouraging her to explore new sports and activities.
Danny took his health seriously. He trained at Fourth Avenue Gym, his favorite place to work out, seven days a week and paddled regularly. An avid competitive outrigger canoe and standup paddler, Danny's love for the sport began during a trip to Oahu, Hawaii, in 2010. Paddling became his passion, and he worked tirelessly to hone his skills, regularly practicing on the Colorado River and in San Diego. Over the next 15 years, Danny competed in numerous races, including the Pailolo Channel from Molokai to Maui, the Catalina Channel from Avalon to Newport Beach, and multiple races at the annual Hano Hano race in San Diego. In January 2025, Danny and Luna competed together in a two-person outrigger canoe race at the Hano Hano event in Mission Bay, finishing second in their division. It was an experience that deepened their bond, and Luna will forever cherish the memory of sharing her father's passion for paddling. Our family lost Danny during his last outrigger canoe paddle on February 14, 2025.
Danny's impact on the youth of Yuma was immeasurable. He was a mentor, counselor, and role model who uplifted countless young people and provided them with guidance and support. His warmth, humor, and generosity left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Danny's shined brightest in his role as a father and fervently outpouring God's instruction to spread the gospel: The Great Commission. Danny's legacy of family, love, faith, and service will continue to inspire those who knew him, and he will forever be missed by all who were touched by his presence.
Danny is survived by his beloved daughter, Luna, the love of his life, Aryca, his parents, Daniel and Frances, his sister Priscilla (Jerry), his nephew Arturo, his niece Roxanne, and many extended family members within the Marron and Arizaga families. He was preceded in death by his cherished grandparents, Anatalia Martinez and Feliciana and Daniel Marron.
Danny's services will take place on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 10:00 am at Stone Ridge Church in Yuma, AZ.
The following pallbearers will escort Danny: Arturo Ramos, Ozmhel Santana, Steven and Christopher Arizaga, Jerry Smith, and Alfredo Campa.
