

Daniel Bennet Otto passed away at Yuma Regional Medical Center on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at the age of 85.
He is predeceased by his parents Lyle and Ada Jean; sisters Yvonne and Anna Lyle, and his brother Dean. Daniel is survived by his loving wife Marjorie Otto of 5 years. They were married in Yuma Arizona on June 28, 2008. He is lovingly remembered by his children Lyle, Mark and Dana; Kathy, Theresa and Laurie; John, Debbie and Patricia; by his brother James, his sisters Patricia and Myrtle, and by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Daniel was born in Minier, Illinois on September 15, 1927. He graduated High School at Minier, and went on to a 22 year career in the US Armed Service, first in the ARMY AIR CORP, and when the AIR FORCE was created he became one of the first members. His career took him to many places, from Germany and Italy in the early years, to Vietnam at the end with Spain in the middle.
He continued to have “itchy feet” all of his life, and loved to travel. Sometimes just driving around the country, and with frequent trips to Hawaii. In his late seventies he took his brother Jim for a “little cruise”, 27 days on a slow boat to Australia.
There will be a 10:00 am interment on Thursday, August 15. A memorial service will be follow at 2:00 pm Thursday, at the Morningside Baptist Church on 8th Ave, Yuma, Arizona. Pastor Dale Clayton will officiate, and Daniel will be buried with a Military Honor Guard present.
