My apologies for delay in signing guest book but I don't subscribe to newspaper so I missed notice of John's passing. My condolences to the family. John was an awesome person and he clearly left a mark on those that knew him. RIP, John.

My thoughts and prayers to the family and loved ones of the great and unforgettable Mr. Amavisca. I had the pleasure of meeting him and getting to know him during my FFA year at AUHS. It was a great honor to have known this man. May God give the family the comfort during this time.

I am truly sorry for your loss, but we are looking forward to the day that John 5:25 will come true for those we lost and loved.

To the Amavisca family we send our heartfelt sorrow for the loss of your husband, father, uncle and friend. John David impacted the lives of those he came in contact with.  We will miss him and pray that we will someday be able to walk with in in the house of our Lord.

Mr. Amavisca was an amazing teacher, mentor, and friend. I was blessed to be one of his students. His love for agriculture and education impacted me greatly. He helped many of us to discover our dreams and passions and encouraged us to follow them. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

It is with heartfelt sadness we say good bye to friend and family member. He has made a made a major impact on my family and family members lives, as everyone of my four children attended his AG class at some time during his tenure at Cebola High. Mr. Amavisca you will be missed!

John always called me brother and said Audios as goodby. I will miss talking to him every week. Especially about the days when we were little kids.  Being out at the ranch or up at Nortons Landing.  Racing Jughead and Okie Bee to the Maricopa line,driving cattle across the desert to the Gila River or helping catch the wild horses at the ranch. My thought and prayers go out to the Amavisca family.  I remember him from from when I spent time with my Tata Enes.

I'm going to miss this man! He could make me laugh harder than just about anyone else. He lived with my parents for a while around the time he & my sister, Lo, were married. The concoctions he would whip up in the kitchen were.... well, there are no words to accurately describe them.  Let's just say the kitchen looked like a science experiment, gone terribly wrong! However,John always seemed pleased with his creations. Then there was the time he decided to make jerky & had raw meat strong across his & Lor's house! 

John was like a big brother to me, in those days. And, as a big brother, he did his best to pester me. His favorite trick was to put Alka Seltzer in my mouth, then hold my mouth closed!  What a guy! I found ways to get even though. He once had to push my 1963 Ford Falcon home from the grocery store after I convinced him to go with me. Too bad I was out of gas. :-)

I have to say, I got a tear in my eye while reading the last line of this wonderful tribute. My dad loved singing that very song line to "Big John".

Amy, Kelly, Danielle, your dad was one of a kind! But, then you already know that.

My sympathy go out to all the Amavisca family. John to me was like a brother. Everyone who knew him would agree with me, he was such a wonderful man, in many ways. He will be missed by so many people. God Bless all his family now and always.
