David William Toensing, 75, of Yuma, AZ, passed away on February 20, 2019, at home. Dave was born in St. Louis, MO on October 3, 1943, to Herbert and Mildred Toensing. He and his sister, Lynette, attended Concordia University in Seward, NE. He was a Lutheran school teacher, choir director, and organist for 40+ years. He taught in St. Louis, MO, Montebello, CA and Yuma, AZ. He was a sports enthusiast, history buff, western movie watcher, and classical music aficionado. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals as much as his own children. When not teaching or playing the organ, you could find Dave watching baseball, football, or hockey while wearing a St. Louis Cardinals t-shirt and yelling at the TV in excitement (or frustration).
He is survived by his children; Brett (Anne-Marie), Noelle (Brian), Mark; and grandchildren; Alex, Megan, Brooke and Ryan
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Lutheran Church.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 13th, 2019 at Christ Lutheran Church with a reception immediately following.
