To My Beautiful Son,
Each day I wake up I think of you.  Every night I go to bed I say a prayer for you.  I have a little hummingbird that visits quite often, I say its you, coming to check on me and your beautiful daughter.  Not a day goes by that I don't think of you, they say it gets easier as the years go by.  Well it doesn't.  It still hurts and I still can't believe it.  But as the days go by I look into your daughters eyes and see YOU.  She is as beautiful as you.  You would be very proud of her.  I will continue to keep my promise to you and take the best care I can of her.  All of your funny little sayings, dances, hugs and humor will live on in us.  Although you are not with me on earth you will always be in my heart and thoughts every single day.  I love you with all my heart MY SON.

Sunka Akicita, I didn't know you for long but you had a good heart and good spirit. Grandfather will look out for you, Misu. You are with the ancestors now so look out for us, ok? To his family, my prayers and good thoughts. Javi and I shared a very small room at Donovan for a while.He had my back in a big way as we took on the system to be allowed our traditional spiritual rights and won. He did my Lakota people great honor and learned many of our songs from me including what each song meant, word for word. He wanted to go back and speak to the kids and help them avoid what he had experienced. He wanted to walk the Red Road. Now he is. Blehiciapo, Sunka Akicita (Dog Soldier)
