Hector was born in 1952 and faced adversity early in life, losing both of his parents at a young age. Despite these challenges, he grew into a man of humbleness, strength, and resilience.
In 1972, Hector began a life of honorable government service by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, where he served with distinction as a marksman, demonstrating exceptional skill, discipline, and commitment. In 1995, he continued his commitment to his country by joining the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service at the Port of Lukeville, Arizona. He later transferred to the Port of San Luis, Arizona, where he served as a Customs and Border Protection Officer with professionalism and integrity. Hector retired from U.S. Customs and Border Protection in 2017, completing more than four decades of distinguished federal service.
Throughout his career, Hector Galindo was known for his unwavering commitment to the mission, his deep integrity, and the steady mentorship he offered to those around him. He was respected by colleagues and supervisors alike, and his legacy of service will not be forgotten.
Hector is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Mary, his beloved son, Alex, and his cherished siblings: Jesse (Lynn) Galindo, Ricky (Leslie) Galindo, Lydia (Gregory) Montoya, Belinda (Tim) Thompson, Fernando Galindo, Maria Galindo, and Norma Galindo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus Aguilar Galindo and Juliana Onsurez Galindo, and by his brothers, Hector and Esteban Galindo, who he lost in childhood.
Hector will be remembered for his strength of character, humility, and deep sense of duty. He leaves behind a lasting example of what it means to serve with honor. He will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know him.
