Born on June 26, 1957, in Macon, MO, Joe was the son of Joseph R. and Maxine (Kunc) Clema. On March 14, 1998, Joe surprised many, including himself, by marrying Brenda (Barrows) Cooper in Macon. Together, they cultivated a beautiful life filled with gardening, travel, and the recent joy of owning a winter retreat in Yuma, AZ.
After graduating from Macon High School in 1975, Joe embarked on a fulfilling career with ConAgra until his retirement. A dedicated farmer, he remained committed to the family farm throughout his life.
Known as a true friend and a wonderful conversationalist, Joe never met a stranger. He found happiness in tending his garden or working on the farm, and in his leisure time, he relished the company of loved ones, whether it was fishing, hunting, or simply enjoying the outdoors by the firepit. Cowboys, NASCAR, or Westerns often played on his TVs, accompanied by a cold beer in hand.
Though he didn't have children of his own, Joe cherished his role as a loving uncle to nephews Jason and Brandon, and adored his great-nephew, Kenneth. He also embraced his step-family with warmth and affection.
Joe is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda Clema; sister, Jolene (Don) Lampton of Georgetown, TX; brother, John (Debbie) Clema of Macon; nephews Jason Clema of Columbia, MO, and Brandon (Ashton) Clema of Anabel, MO; great-nephew Kenneth Clema of Anabel, MO; step-daughter Crystal Cooper of Columbia, MO; step-grandchildren Lena Jorgenson of Columbia, MO, and Adelyn Cooper of Tina, MO; as well as numerous other cherished friends and family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents and step-son, Craig Cooper.
