Kenny was born in Berkeley, California and grew up in El Cerrito. He attended El Monte Elementary, Adams Junior High School and graduated from Kennedy High School in 1976.
One of his first jobs was a lifeguard/swim instructor at the Richmond Plunge.
Kenny grew up spending many years boating on the delta, spending time at Richmond Rod & Gun Club making lasting memories with family and friends.
Kenny was active in playing basketball throughout his childhood and continued playing on leagues well into his adulthood.
Kenny was a proud member of U.A. Local 342 and began his career working at the local refineries until retiring in 2018 due to Charcot Narathopy in his left foot. Kenny also enjoyed working with Mark Raine Paving while not on assignment for the Union.
Kenny loved spending time with his family, friends, crisscrossing the Bay Area supporting bands such as Tower of Power and bicycling along the Bay Area Trails. After moving to Yuma, he did his riding around his neighborhood with Sheila. He especially loved the pool/hot tub in their community.
Kenny also had a passion for photography and shared his Point Richmond, California pictures online (Web shots) where his photos were proudly featured and received thousands of views.
An animal lover at heart, he met his soul mate, Sheila Rae Winona (1994) and happily became the devoted “cat dad” to many cats over the years-never once turning down Sheila’s wish to rescue & welcome another kitty into their home.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Tom (2014), Lorraine (2021), his brother Gary (1986) daughter Amber (2007) and so many other relatives and friends who have been waiting to welcome him home.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife Sheila, his son Gary, his sister Cynde (husband Don) nieces Nichole, Amanda (Andrew), great nieces Lilianna and Alina as well as in laws Dennis and Cecelia Sloan.
Kenny was a one of a kind “good guy” who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Rest in Peace, my Love, till we are together again. ❤️
