

Lucrezia "Quecha" D. Ramirez, 83, died on the evening of Friday, October 18th at Yuma Regional Medical Center. She was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Quecha was born in Don Luis, Arizona on January 13, 1930 to Francisco and Carmelita Duarte. She is preceded in death by her husband Roberto a marriage that lasted 66 years, her son Robert, her parents, Francisco and Carmelita; brothers Arnold (Esther) Duarte, Raul (Dolores) Duarte, Reyes (Mary) Duarte, Frank (Mercedes) Duarte, Charlie (Gladys) Duarte; sisters, Mary (Ventura) Montiel, Guillermina (Robert) Cox, and Rachel (Ernie) Goodrich.
Lucrezia was a homemaker who at times also helped her husband Roberto with managing the Yuma Outlet Store, a western clothing store. They opened the business in downtown Main Street in 1959 and eventually moved to the Western Village shopping center in 1978. The store closed in February 2013. Lucrezia was the happiest when surrounded by all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lucrezia and her husband loved to dance. Lucrezia was known for her comical, pleasant and outgoing personality. Making people laugh was her forte. She had a deep faith in Catholicism and a long time member of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
She is survived by her sons, Arnold (Suzanne) of Phoenix, AZ and Louie (Maria) of Yuma, AZ.; daughter, Elsa (Vince) Apilado of Arlington, TX; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; Sister Lydia Cortright. Viewing will be held at Johnson Mortuary, 1415 S. First Avenue on Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1815 S. 8th Avenue, on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with funeral procession to follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. Interment will be in the Garden of Last Supper. Pallbearers include Sarah Ramirez, Maya Apilado Burgess, Stephanie Ramirez, Vanessa Villapando, Jacey Ditter, Jade Ramirez and Melanie Ramirez. Honoary Pallbearers are Travis, Landon, Olivia, Ellie, Jackson, Tommy, Alyson, Sunny, Rome, Madison, Malania, TJ, Mason, Daniel, Adrein, Marley, and Nadiya.
All of the funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Funeraria Del Angel, 795 W. 28th Street. Yuma, Arizona.
