maria, my first babysitter and a true neighbor and extended family.  i have so many memories of maria and her family. she was such a large part of the first twenty years of my life, this news was unexpected.  i owe her and her family acknowledgment of her life and her death and credit for being there for me over and over again on primrose street. she affected my life in so many ways.  sincerly tammy bierend

Pat & Jessica...I'm very sorry for your loss...Maria was like a 2nd mom to me when we work together she would scolded me when I deserved it
( sometimes a little to harsh), but then she was there to comfort me through troubling times..I remember her always telling me stories about her daughter Jessica and how she was so proud of her...I wish I could have been there for her the way she was for me.

I don't know if this is appropriate or not but just this past weekend I was telling my granddaughter to use a separate knife for peanut butter and separate knife for jelly. Cuz my friend Maria told me that's how it's done. Pat, you and Maria are two of the best people I've ever known. You are the example we should all look to in love and commitment.

Oh no!!!! Pat, jessica... This is terrible news. I'm so saddened to see this. Maria is one of the coolest people I know. I didn't see her a much as before but I thought of her often. you all are in my heart and in my prayers.

My deepest sympathy to Maria's family you are in my prayers.

So sorry to hear of your loss.  Just now heard of this 3:30pm 02-11-13...I'll buy you a cold one.... or a warm one today.

Jessica, my thoughts and prayers are with you.  Your mother was my fifth grade student at Rancho Viejo - just a few short years ago - and was such a great little girl. I can remember her laughter!  I am so glad I got to see her every once in a while as the years passed. (It is always such a pleasure to see students grow up well!)  She was pleasant and friendly and determined as an adult as well as when she was a child.
