Vincent Keith Johnson

Vincent Keith Johnson (26) passed away on October 7, 2020 at his home in Chaparral, New Mexico. Vincent was born in Irvine, California, on December 27, 1993, the son of Ronald Johnson Jr. and Kelly M. (Bemish) Johnson.

Prior to moving to Yuma, AZ, Vincent lived in Irvine, California, Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Okinawa, Japan. After moving to Yuma, Vincent attended Rolle Elementary School, Gila Vista Middle school and graduated from Kofa High School and took courses at Arizona Western College.

Before going into the service, Vincent was a volunteer for the Yuma Fire Department.

Vincent joined the United States Army on June 1, 2014 and went to boot camp at Fort Jackson, North Carolina. After boot camp, Vincent was stationed with the 123rd Brigade Support Battalion as an Allied Trade Specialist at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. Vincent’s awards include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, 2nd award, Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon. Vincent was Honorably discharged March, 20, 2018.

Vincent is survived by his brother, Levi W. Johnson, his father Ronald G. Johnson Jr., his step mother Jacqueline Johnson. He also leaves his parental grandmother, Janice Feece and maternal grandmother Sharon Bemish. He is also survived by his girlfriend Amanda Swenson, his uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and his many close friends he made in the short time he was with us. Vincent was preceded in death by his mother, Kelly M. Johnson and grandfather Ronald G. Johnson Sr.

Vincent was known by many friends in the Yuma area, in El Paso, Texas, in Plymouth, Indiana and to his fellow military brats he grew up with around the nation as a kind, caring and loving friend. He would do anything to help others. Vincent also had a big heart for animals, including his dogs and snakes.

1 Samuel 1:27-28 “For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition that I made to him. Therefore I have lent him to the Lord. As long as he lives, he is lent to the Lord.” And he worshiped the Lord there.” Vincent’s final resting place will be back with his mother at the Bremen Cemetery in Bremen, Indiana.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the Prince of Peace Ev. Lutheran Church.
