Wilbur, from the very first day we met I felt comfortable, like we were family.  You were so much like my dad. Lucky me, I became family when Stacy & I married.  I have always loved visiting with you.  It  was like going home to see my mom and dad:  very relaxing, lots of laughter, super meals (courtesy of you) with a few libations (ha! ha!) and terrific stories of your past (only you & my dad could tell stories like that).  I'm happy you two can finally meet.  I will miss you!  Love, Ann

We are truly blessed to be a part of your family Papa Wilbur. We will miss Thanksgiving days of sitting outside, drinking a cold beer with you, and enjoying your great stories. We know you are in a much better place now and no longer suffering. It is that knowledge that fills our hearts and minds with comfort. I only wish we had more time with you. Thankfully we have Brandon and Stacy in our lives, so we will always have a piece of you here. Rest in peace, we love you.

Sedona and I offer our condolences to a great champion of freedom.  Know that he is in paradise now and watching over all the Wrights, a guardian angel.  We can celebrate his accomplishments through the wonderful people in his lineage: son Stacy, a loving father figure, and grandson Brandon, following in Papa's footsteps as a freedom fighter; and daughters Vanetta and Shelly.  His legacy is alive and well!

How does one begin to say good-bye to someone like the great Wilbur Wright? I honestly have no memory of life without all of you in it. So funny, my middle name is Kay, but your dad christened me "Linda Sue" and he always greeted me that way. It almost seemed like that should have been my middle name! I remember when we were very young, your dad would come to our house for morning coffee and he'd be wearing his policeman's uniform with his leather jacket. I was mesmerized by all those shiny zippers and how tough he looked. But, over the years, we all saw the heart beneath that black leather jacket, and we knew that he was kind, loved a good joke and loved all of you kids so very much. Wilbur was a great friend to my mom & dad and to my sister and I also. God bless you and may your wonderful memories keep his spirit alive for you always.

Having lived on the same block as you as well, My memories are of Wilber an my daddy (Jackie Sims) talking about old times and drinking a can or two of Coors.The loss is only temorary if you have faith. Today Wilbur was remembured by Kate an I an Somerton has lost a great man. A man who proud of who he was an so proud of his family.

It's hard to lose a father and best friend all at once, but that's the case for me, something my dad and I spoke of often, which concerned him.  It wasn't really a problem as my dad left me with the understanding that family, friends and heart are what really matter, the rest is just noise.  I have a new best friend, my son Brandon, but because of my dad, I also have a whole new family to love; he was able to bring that about with his love, kindness and care.  Adios Pop, I hear that many recent “Angel-winged” young cops in heaven have been waiting for a Chief and I know now they've got the best possible leader.  Keep them in line, but take them wtih you, fly out and have fun, you all deserve it.  Hold me a spot on the boat in San Felipe, I'll be there soon enough.

I'm gonna miss you papa Wilbur. I know you are in a much better place now.  We are so much alike in every way it's scary.  I'll take over the patrol watch from here you can rest easy sir!!! You were not only my grandfather but you are a fellow brother in blue. Gide me and protect me as I follow in your foot steps protecting the good people of this world. I love you papa and I will never for get the day you presented me with my police badge! It was an honor to have such a great and powerful man as my grandfather. Papa you know we will all truly miss your kindness,honesty, & how wonderful you were with all our family. Thanks for loving my girls like your grandkids(Isabella&Evelynn). I will miss you greatly;taking you to your dr's appts and listening to your stories, that I will never forget. I grew up in Somerton on the same block with the Wright Family, they were our good friends and neighbor and we stayed close thruoug the years.  Wilbur was a stand up man, he loved his family and worked hard to support them and was proud of what he had. I will never forget When we were little kids my sister and I were afraid of something and went to my Dad and he told us, never to be afraid when he was around and if he was not there go to "our policeman", Wilur because he would always look out for us.......I still feel that way today.  Somerton has lost a wonderful citizen and I know he will be missed.  Stacy, Shell and Vanetta please know that you are in my prayers.

The Wright Family;
 Our condolences, I never knew your father, but I've hear many stories, how great the man is and felt like I knew him through all of you.

I first heard of Mr Wright while stationed aboard an aircraft carrier in Japan. By all accounts he was one of the greatest men who had ever been a John Wayne fan. He taught his son to go fight for what was right and not let anyone push him around and he clearly passed on a legacy of moral integrity and great respect for individual freedom to his family and friends.
May you all find peace and comfort in your memories.

We met Wilbur thru his sister Nadine. She was like a grandmother to our children, and Wilbur was like their Uncle. Wilbur and I got to know each other when I went to work for the City Of Somerton in 1999. He used to fix me lunch a couple of times per month at his house. He always warned me about the Politics of Somerton, and as usual he was always correct. Myself and my family will miss Wilbur. He was a True friend to myself and family.He was truly loved by his family and friends. Before his sister Nadine passed away, she clung on to life until I could go to Somerton and drive Wilbur to see here. She had a smile on her face when she saw Wilbur, held his hand and passed quietly.That is how much they loved each other. God bless Wilbur's family and we will always keep Wilbur in our thoughts as we do Nadine.
