TSgt Juan Castilleja, a veteran of the United States Air Force, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away May 29, 2021. Juan was born to Pedro and Maria Castilleja, September 20,1937 in New Braunfels and raised in San Antonio. He graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and shortly after enlisted in the US Air Force. After serving 20 years in the military, he continued his career as a civil servant at Kelly Air Force Base until he retired.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris. Children Tony (Dawn), Patty (Mando), and Crissy (Rodney). Grandchildren Vanessa (Leonard), Jessica (William), Jennifer (fiancée John), Jamie (Miha), Logan, Brandon, and seven great-grandchildren. Sisters Olga and Connie.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandson Thomas "TJ", and siblings Mercy, Mando, and Luis.
Juan enjoyed playing racquetball, craftsman work, bar-b-queuing, playing the lotto, and the occasional Lone Star beer :) He was an active Lanier High School Alum (Fabulous 50’s Club). He loved watching San Antonio Spurs games and was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan!
Always referring to Doris as ‘Mom’ or ‘My beautiful wife’, he stood by her side through thick and thin. They enjoyed time with friends and family. They loved to dance, attend social events, and travel.
To his children, he modeled hard work, perseverance, and strength. He was their provider, protector, and supported each of their endeavors.
He was a caring grandfather, "DeeDees". He enjoyed and cherished the time he spent with them. He lit up every time he saw them.
"Gomabseubnida" for being the greatest husband, dad, and DeeDees we could ever ask for! We love you mo' mo' mo' mo' mo'! ♡
