Mark Bevin Carlisle, 64, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in Sugar Land, Texas. Mark was born on July 17, 1953 in Beaumont, Texas to Florence and Paul Carlisle.
Mark is survived by his devoted, loving wife of 43 years, Ann; daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Joshua Bibb of Sugar Land; daughter and son-in-law, Kristin and Andrew Morton of Sugar Land; grandchildren; Carson Morton, Avery Bibb, Amelia Bibb, and Alexander Bibb; mother, Florence Carlisle of Beaumont; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Sylvia Carlisle of Beaumont; brother and sister-in-law, Chip and Susan Carlisle of Sugar Land.
He is preceded in death by his father, Paul W. Carlisle, Sr. and his father-in-law, Hampton W. Blake.
Mark graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1975 with a degree in Business Administration. He married Ann, his high school sweetheart, in August 1974. He began working as a Landman for Marathon Oil Company in 1976. A longtime AAPL and HAPL member, he became a Certified Professional Landman in 1996. Over his career, he worked for other corporations within the industry, eventually retiring from Conoco Phillips in September 2016. After holding various positions within the oil industry, he discovered he had a passion and love for mentoring newly recruited Landmen and was always willing to share his experiences and advice for the gain and growth of others. Mark had a love for golfing, hunting and fishing, but mostly he loved playing with his grandchildren and watching sunsets with his wife, Ann, at their Galveston Bay home.
Visitation will be held at The Settegast-Kopf Co.@ Sugar Creek in Sugar Land, Texas on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Sugar Creek Baptist Church Worship Center with a reception to follow. Pastor Clif Cummings will officiate.
