Douglas Kent Heisinger, 87, of Fresno, California, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. Doug was born on December 25, 1933 in Selma, CA to Lawrence and Grace Heisinger. Doug was the middle son of three boys, Duane the oldest and Gary the youngest. Doug graduated from Fresno High and then from UC Davis with a degree in Business Agriculture. After college he went to work for Security Pacific National Bank where he managed several locations throughout the Central Valley. After retiring from banking, Doug and Rita purchased 40 acres outside of Kerman, CA and farmed raisins until finally retiring for good in 2015.
Doug married Rita Virginia Reall on June 19, 1955 and they recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Together they built a wonderful life full of adventure. Doug loved the outdoors and enjoyed skiing, golfing, fishing and hiking / backpacking and in later years a little traveling and working on the farm. He was also an avid reader and options trader in his spare time. He and Rita were part of the team that helped establish a new church in Fresno, New Covenant Community Church, and offered support in many areas throughout the years. Doug was a proud man, a man of his word, a man of faith and truth and a wonderful provider and leader. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Doug is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rita V. Heisinger, his brother Gary Heisinger (Billie), his sons Nik Heisinger (Karen), Kriss Heisinger (Karen), six grandchildren Luke Heisinger (Nicole), Niklas Heisinger (Desiree), Colby Heisinger, Emily Wilson (Tim), Garrett Heisinger (Emily) and Grant Heisinger, and two great grandchildren Madison Heisinger and Levi Heisinger. Doug was proceeded in death by his parents Lawrence and Grace and by his brother Duane Heisinger (Judith).
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel, 202 N. Teilman Avenue in Fresno, California.
