Just 8 days short of his 99th birthday, Thomas Earl Allen passed at 12:45 in the morning of March 10, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Florence Allen (1979). Loving father of Brian (Christine Wozniak, Hayden and Nicholas). He will be missed by his grandchildren Sheila, Christopher and Michael and numerous great grandchildren. Also mourning his passing are his nieces in England, Val (her children Simon, Jamie and Juliette), Rita (her children Ken, Nancy and Claire) and Nephew David. He leaves to miss him nieces and nephews in Canada, Karen, Denise, Sandra, Jim and Jerry. Tom was predeceased by his brothers Jim and Ted, as well as parents Edward and Mable Allen.
Tom served his country from 1942-1946 with RCEME – Sicily, Italy, Europe Campaign. Although quiet about his service, it was a memorable time for him when Brian located the welding truck he drove from South Sicily to Holland from 1943-1945. And chance that Tom had, he was working to restore it. An avid and accomplished trap shooter, Tom won the Ontario Championships and was runner up in both the Canadian and U.S Championships. Known as a respectable and talented welder, Tom will also be remembered as being involved in the setup of one of the first welding training schools in Canada for the United Association of Plumber and Fitters here in London – Local 593.
