Kathy was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, wife, grandmother, and friend. Her proudest achievements in life are her children and family. Kathy always put others before herself, and lived to put a smile on the face of anyone that she interacted with. In her personal life, her greatest treasures were picnics, lunches, and swim days with her grandkids, traveling to new places with her devoted husband, and helping her mom cross items off her bucket list. She also enjoyed cooking dinner and playing games with her entire family on the weekends, and always had a home filled with laughter and joy.
In her professional life, Kathy had a passion for helping others. She retired from Tumbleweed Restaurants as the Director of Human Resources after 3 decades of service. She cherished her positon with the company and the opportunity that it provided her to make a positive impact on countless members of the Tumbleweed Team. Kathy was also a former board member for the Special Olympics of Kentucky, and volunteered with the Habitat for Humanity. Kathy was a member of Southeast Christian Church, and enjoyed a strong sense of belonging in the church community.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Wes Kammerer; son, Joshua Corum (Cassie); daughter, Mandy Jackson (Mike); her mother, Lora Bass Lezark; brother, Bill Lezark (Kathy); her grandchildren, Carson, Gracie “G”, Camden “Camo”, and Brady; as well has her friends in life, Keith Corum; and Walter and Doris Corum. She was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Marie, father Emery, and beloved 4-legged companion, Lady.
Visitation will be from 2-8pm Thursday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy. Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 on Friday at Southeast Christian Church Southwest campus, 8301 St. Andrews Church Rd, followed by interment in Bethany Cemetery. There will be visitation after 10am on Friday at the church. Moe requests that you bring a smile!
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Norton Healthcare Foundation, with designation to the Norton Cancer Institute for cancer research.
