Dad was a cabinetmaker born in Germany in 1936. He immigrated to Canada in 1957 and began working for Doerksen and Gronau before moving on to Woodland Supply. He married the love of his life Adi in 1970. They raised 5 children together.
Dad was a master woodworker. He spent many hours behind his drafting board creating plans for the homes he built. The craftsmanship in his homes often had people in awe of his talents. He also enjoyed creating furnishings; the possibilities were endless as to what he could create. He worked endlessly and put his whole heart into anything he built, for him it was labor of love.
Dad was a man of many talents from painting artwork, to flying planes. He was very proud of his achievements especially his pilot's license as it was one of his dreams come true.
Dad loved the outdoors, his favorite time of year was fall, it meant duck hunting with his family and labrador retrievers. His eyes would light up telling you stories of his adventures in the marsh. Almost as much as he loved to hunt, he loved fishing and enjoyed many more adventures with his good friend Bruce.
Dad loved to travel, he wintered in Mexico during his retirement making many friends and wonderful memories with Mom.
Dad had a strong faith and was an elder in the Lutheran Church. He was the lay Pastor for the Good Sheppard Lutheran Church in Kenora for many years.
He was predeceased by his parents Kurt and Hildegard Limpach. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Adolfine. His children Gerhard (Angi), Karen, Christine (Todd), Astrid (Leslie), Genevieve (Robert) and numerous grandchildren.
