She was born on May 3rd, 1930 in Concord, NC and was the daughter of Mae Belle and Robert Kluttz. She grew up in Concord, attended Concord High School, and later attended Woman’s College in Greensboro, NC.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 63 years, Lewis Hinson, her daughter Alice Dickens (Mike), her son Jeff Hinson (Sheri), five grandchildren Courtney, Jenny, Natalie, Nicole, and Seth, eight great-grandchildren Bryce, Mariah, Macy, Gracie, Parker, Ella, Olivia, and Nicolas, her sister Rose Davis, sister-in-law Nancy Kluttz, brother-in-law Don Hinson(Pat) and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother William Kluttz.
Dorothy was a loving wife and mother and a patient grandmother. Her warm smile and gentle spirit made her loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed traveling, reading, sewing and baking. Her strawberry cake was a constant request of every grand and great-grandchild for their birthdays. She was an active and dedicated member of Central United Methodist Church for 63 years and was a member of the Friendship Class.
