It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we mourn the passing of an incredibly kind, smart, and generous man, Douglas Glenn Mooney. Doug was born in Nipawin, Saskatchewan to Glen and Lillian Mooney. He leaves behind his wife Shirley, 6 children and 7 grandchildren, his parents, brother, and sister, along with many nieces, nephews and adopted family, Alex, Angel, Malia, and Nia. Too many to list are the countless other close friends and co-workers Doug met along the way.
His greatest passion was building and rigging Peterbilt trucks. He fell in love with the trucking industry at an early age. He got behind the wheel of his first logging truck at the tender age of 12, with his father by his side. It was Doug’s father and his vast knowledge of trucking that sparked Doug’s lifelong love and dedication to the industry.
Doug worked at Peterbilt Pacific for 25 years and he found his second family there. He shared his enthusiasm for the product and stood loyally behind the customers he served by working tireless hours bringing dreams to life for his clients.
Doug was happiest spending his down days at the lake in his motorhome, sitting by a roaring campfire with an ice-cold Coors light in his hand, and his devoted dogs by his side. He loved to entertain family and friends and was always excited to spend time with his grandchildren be it teasing, water fights, or teaching them math.
Doug’s passing will leave a tremendous hole in the lives of his family and friends and will continue to be loved by many and thought about often. Tears will be shed, and smiles will be shared when stories of Doug are told. The memories he created in our lives will leave an imprint in our hearts for a lifetime.
