Derek loved listening to music, dancing in the high school, taking drives back in the woods with his grandfather and texting on his cell phone. He was a Toronto Maple Leafs fan and loved going to the racetrack at Lake Doucet, he also really loved Char’s good sweets.
Derek is survived by his mom Heather and step-father Steven Amon; sister, Tiffany Doucette; brothers, Evan Mullen, Brandon Doucet; niece, Ava Doucette; uncle, Wayne Thibodeau; grandparents, Junior and Donna Doucette, Kevin and Beverly O’Neil; special friends, Ulysse Gaudet, Tim Mackinnon and Jason Francis as well as “sisters” Char Anderson and Shannon Amero.
He was predeceased by his father, Nil Doucet and his grandparents, Anne-Marie and Reg Thibodeau.
Thank you goes out to Dr. Lisa Gillis, the staff of VON, palliative care and Amanda Thibault for taking such good care of Derek.
Visitation for Derek will be held at Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby, on Wednesday, April 7th from 7-9pm. Funeral service time and date pending. Funeral Mass will be 2pm, April 9 from St. Joseph Catholic Church, Weymouth Father Raymond officiating.
