Gene R. Crook, age 86, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee formerly of Smyrna, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Adams Place. He was the son of the late David and Martha Sinor Crook. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Alice Beauchesne and brothers, David Crook, Jr and Benjamin Crook. Mr. Crook is survived by his wife of over 57 years, Roy Mae Hartsfield Crook; daughters, Renee Reynolds and her husband John and Mary Ann Gregory and her husband Jeff; son, Kevin Crook; grandchildren, Trevor Gregory, Jonathan Reynolds and Ian Gregory; niece, Trish Epright and her husband Dan; nephews, Ron Johnson, Don Johnson and his wife Maria; step-nephew Jim Johnson and his wife Debbie; brother in law, Walt Hartsfield and sister in law, Wanda Hartsfield. Services for Mr. Crook will be Saturday morning at 10:30 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Smyrna with placement to follow in the mausoleum at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Crook was a graduate of Father Ryan High School and long time member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and St. Luke’s Catholic Church. He was the former co-owner of Bomar’s Garage in Nashville, instructor at Nashville Auto Diesel College and Director for the General Motors Automotive Service Education Program at Nashville State Technical College. Memorial may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association.
