Petro (Peter) was born to Petro and Paranya Lytwyn in the village of Romaniv Ukraine, a place he loved and returned to visit. Reunited with his beloved wife Anna, daughter Olana and granddaughter Oksana. He leaves behind his loving daughter Patricia Ihnatiuk (Fred) and son John (Ann). Cherished Dido to Paul Ihnatiuk (Pam), Deanna Duff (Blair). Great-dido to Paul Jr., Poppy, William and Gavin. Step-dido to Eric Larson (Angela) and Jake Larson (Jess). Step-great-dido to Harvey, Berkley and Oakley. He will be dearly missed by many extended family members, nieces, nephews and friends at home and in the United States, Ukraine and Poland.
Petro left his home in 1942 to work in the German coal mines. At the end of the war, he met his bride, Anna, in the displaced persons camp at Tubingen Germany. Petro followed Anna, his wife of 67 years, to Canada to start a new life and together they raised a family. Peter was very proud to have driven the cranes at Stelco steel mills for 38 years, all accident free. In his spare time he participated in the Ukrainian National Federation, always proud of his Ukrainian heritage. At home he loved being outdoors tending to his vegetable gardens and fruit trees.

Visitation at the Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Friday April 30th from 2 until 5 p.m. A livestream of the Funeral Service will be available at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday May 1st on the services page of www.markeydermody.com Interment will take place at St. Volodymyr Cemetery in Oakville.
