Marlene was a devoted wife to the love of her life Walter for 60 years.
After graduating from Chilliwack Senior High School Marlene pursued a career in nursing. A short time later she met Walter and they were married in Chilliwack in 1960. They later moved to a small farm in Greendale and lived there for 47 years raising their children. It was the best years of their lives raising a family on the farm, they sold and moved to a gated community in Sardis.
She took great pride in loving and caring for her entire family. Marlene and Walter also cherished their very close friends over the years. In later years, Marlene especially adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved gardening, making home cooked meals which she shared at many family gatherings, bowling and especially loved dogs, cats and horses. Marlene and Walter enjoyed the dance floor and enjoyed supporting Ducks Unlimited events.
She was the sole back-bone of their successful businesses, Walter's Bulldozing and Repairs and Timberline Air. Walter would say "if it wasn't for you, this business would never have done as well as it did". Walter and Marlene worked as a team together all their lives and their devotion to each other never went unnoticed.
Marlene was a lovely, caring woman. She had a ready smile, robust laughter and a quick wit. Above all, she was kind and a welcoming friend. She touched many lives. She will be dearly missed by her husband Walter, her loving children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
