John 3:16-18, “This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in Him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.” The Message Bible
Joe P. Munoz Jr. lived a full life. Born on Sunday, April 17, 1938 in Galveston, Texas. Joe graduated from Kirwin Parochial HS and was then accepted in the USMC on November 7, 1957. After training he served in the 1st tank battalion, Charley company at Camp Pendleton, California with time spent in Okinawa with the 3rd battalion. In 1964, Joe was hired on at Thatcher Glass Company in Saugus, California. Beginning as a laborer, he worked his way through the Pyro department to become a lead. It was there that Joe met Mary, one of the glass inspectors.
Joe and Mary were married on September 21, 1982 at the First Baptist Church in Merced by Pastor Bud Abrams and after Thatcher Glass closed it’s doors in 1985, Joe and Mary moved to Merced.
In 1987, after settling into their home on Calimyrna Avenue, Joe landed a job at B&H Labeling in Ceres, California where he continued using the skills he had learned in the Corps; this time building machines for B&H which were shipped around the country and the world and used to label bottles. Joe retired at age 65 and enjoyed football, remodeling his and Mary’s home and fellowship with friends at Christian Life Center, his home church where he served as a deacon and later an elder.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joe Primo Munoz, Sr.; mother, Maria Munoz Ramirez; wife, Mary and is survived by his sister Ethel and daughter Kelly Ann.

Matthew 16: 24-26, “When Jesus went to work on his disciples, ‘Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat; I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self. What kind of deal is it to get everything you want but lose yourself? What could you trade your soul for?’” The Message Bible
