James was born in Cleveland, the son of the late James Richard and Helen (nee Davie) Newport. Jim is the beloved husband of 45 years to Mary Ann (nee Powell); loving father of Callie Newport, Sarah Tumolo (Dwayne) and James Newport ; cherished grandfather of Diana Lynn, Colin, Bailey, Alex and Nathanael; dear brother of Catherine Cachat (David, deceased), Frances Blaha (Robert, deceased) and Patricia Blayney (Thomas); adored uncle of many.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 4PM-7PM with a funeral service at 7PM at Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home, 20820 Lorain Rd., Fairview Park. US Navy Military Honors and inurnment will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 12:45PM at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville, Ohio. Please meet at cemetery at 1230PM.
