This past May 7, 2019, William - George Nunn passed away in a quiet hospital bed, after struggling with cancer for over 2 years. He was 89 years old. Perhaps he is not recognized or remembered by the new generation of actors of Canada, but truth is he was one of the first members of UBCP, or as he would call it, "his Union". I admired his bright, beautiful mind, his wit, his generous heart and creativity, his sense of justice and his unbeatable sense of humor. Of course, my admiration was biased by my love for him.
The only way I can think of honoring his memory is with words, in the language of poetry, the one thing he never stopped producing and loving. Allow me please, to share with you a short poem I wrote for him.
"My love of two centuries"
Written for William Nunn, with love

A well kept mystery
Deep inside me
As treasure I keep
Where no one but you
can, if you would,
Seek to reach
I have a riddle for the wise
A riddle for lovers
An enigma only I
Can answer right
My love of two centuries
Trespassed the gates
that break time apart
A breach brought together
By an ageless man
Man of two centuries
With youth in his heart
Strong as young stallions
With the wisdom of sages
Hidden in his hair
Ageless from beginning
Older than younger
Growing too fast.
Now, younger than older
walking slower
At the pace of time
A man of two centuries
He is
Started in the past
And exists today.

And now, William is gone.
