Rest in Peace, until we all meet again
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Anita Larocque (nee Brown), on July 4, 2019 at the age of 88.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 64 years, Marcel, her son Aime (Patricia), her daughters, Gisele (Patrick) and Diane, her grandsons, AJ, Jason (Sabrina), Jeremy (Colleen), Ryan (Shaylene) and Travis, her great-grandchildren, Breanna, Michelle and Riley, her special lifelong friend Germaine ("Peanut") Normand and special friend Claire (Donwood Personal Care Home), as well as many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Anita was predeceased by her parents, Lawrence and Antoinette Brown, her sisters, Doris and Yvette, her brothers, Paul (Yvette), Roland, Joe, Gilbert ("Gabby"), Ernie and Bill (Bobby-Jo), her son-in-law Timothy Bork, her twin great-granddaughters, Jaime and Taylor, her special friends, Adelaide Garand, Mary Goodman and Gisela Saborowski.
Mom was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba on March 9, 1931. At the age of 17, Mom was employed by the St. Boniface Sanatorium where she worked until she married in 1955. Mom was a domestic goddess whose real love in life was raising her three children, as well as loving and caring for 17 foster children from 1967 to 1980. Mom and Dad's door was always opened to family and friends with everyone welcome to enjoy Mom's delicious home-made cooking/baking and to listen to Dad's fiddle tunes.
Mom's interests included cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, camping, reading, writing letters and playing the piano. In her later years, she enjoyed travelling to many towns in Manitoba and Saskatchewan to watch her husband participate and win numerous fiddling contests. She spent many hours listening to her younger brother Bill and his wife Hilda's recorded music.
A private family service and interment will be held at a later date at the Green Acres Funeral Home & Cemetery.
Those who wish, may make a memorial donation to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10 - 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 4G2, (204) 943-6622.
We all love and miss you. Rest in Peace, until we all meet again
