He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 1950. Jack enlisted in the Army Reserves after high school and then went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Milwaukee School of Engineering. He then moved to Tomball, Texas in 1977 where he later attended the University of Houston and received his Master of Business Administration.
His children were his greatest treasures. He devoted his time to participating in their interests, including coaching t-ball and soccer, Scouts, and other activities. Jack took pride in supporting his family’s endeavors, no matter what they were.
He enjoyed trips with his wife and family exploring the beauty of the great state of Texas, including camping and hiking excursions from Big Bend to the Texas Gulf Coast.
Jack enjoyed golfing and closely followed the Houston Astros, Texans, and Rockets but never lost his love for his hometown team the Green Bay Packers.
Jack was preceded in death by his mother Rose and sister Gerry. He is survived by his loving wife Lauri; son Jack Justin Horwath and wife Kathryne; daughter Hope Stelly and husband Cameron.
He was well known for cherishing the family’s many dogs & cats over the years, as well as any other creatures he met along the way. He never met a stranger, whether person or animal. Love was his greatest gift.
A memorial service will be held for Jack on August 31, 2019, at 4:30 pm, at Brookside-Cypress Creek, 9149 Hwy 6 N, Houston, Texas 77095.
