Helen was born and raised in Bryan, where she met the love of her life, Daniel Duron. The two were married on November 9, 1979 at Iglesia Bautista El Calvario. Helen worked as a paraprofessional for Bryan Independent School District for thirty years. Despite her love for teaching, Helen always believed her primary role was that of a wife, mother, and grandmother.
Helen was completely devoted to her husband, Daniel, and was a constant source of love and support to him throughout their thirty seven years of marriage. In the eyes of her children, Helen was the perfect Mother. She always placed them before everyone and anything else. Helen deeply loved her family and was especially proud of her two grandsons, Braden and Bryce. In her role as “Wuela”, Helen cared for and loved her grandsons unconditionally. They brought her so much joy. Above all, Helen loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and was filled with a hope that she would one day see Him face to face. Now, her faith has become sight.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband Daniel Duron and parents, Charles and Alice Lopez.
She is survived by her children Chris Duron (wife Angela & grandchildren Gintri & Danica), Gabriel Duron (wife Aimee), Amy Duron; grandsons, Braden and Bryce Duron, eight siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Scott & White Hospital in College Station, specifically Dr. Yeh and Dr. Covington, and Hospice Brazos Valley for the excellent care they provided to Helen.
Visitation will be on Sunday, October 27th from 4-6pm at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 28, 2019 at 2pm at First Baptist Church in Bryan. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery.
