Rosa Maria Oliva De Santiago passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at the age of 86, following a 7-year battle with dementia. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Victor Oliva, daughter, Elizabeth Oliva - Jara (son-in-law Richard), siblings; Maria de Jesus, Raquel, Martha and Tere. She is preceded in death by her brother Jose Angel and sister-in-law Lupe, brothers Jose Luis and Carlos, and niece Rocio. Rosa Maria was born in Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico to Jesus Maria De Santiago and Maria De Los Angeles Saldivar. Rosa Maria lived in Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico and then joined her brother Jose Angel when he and his family immigrated to Oxnard in the early 1960's. Rosa Maria met her life partner Victor Oliva in Oxnard and married him in December, 1967. Rosa Maria's priority was always her role as a mother and a housewife but she also made time to listen to her close family members and friends providing moral support to anyone who sought her out; she was a confidant to her brother Jose Angel and her sister-in-law Lupe. She shared many special times with the Herrera family (Lupe, Olivia, Esther and Yolanda) as well as with her friend Leonor. Rosa Maria provided her daughter with great encouragement to continue her education and one of her most significant moments in life was her daughter's graduation day at California State University, Northridge. Rosa Maria missed her siblings dearly; when she had the opportunity to travel to Mexico City she thoroughly enjoyed every moment; she sat for hours chatting away and it was never too long and never enough time. She will be tremendously missed by her husband, daughter, family and friends.
