Mary Beth Cotter Gross, 57, beloved wife, sister and friend died peacefully on November 29, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones. She valiantly fought ovarian cancer for 3 ½ years, inspiring many along her journey. Beth was a faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
Born November 19, 1962, Beth graduated from Tyner High School in 1981. She played tennis and basketball at Gainesville Jr. College and played golf at UTC where she graduated in 1985. She loved the outdoors and was a beloved caddy at The Honors Golf Course in Ooltewah for 15 years. She was formerly employed by Volunteer Sales.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh P. and Bettye H. Cotter.
Beth is survived by her devoted husband and best friend of 34 years, Charles “Butch” Gross; her brothers, Joe (Pamela), Brian and Steven Cotter; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Her friends will miss her deeply, and are grateful for her unconditional love.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 AM on Monday, December 2nd at OLPH Catholic Church with Father Mike Creson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 1st from 4 to 8 PM at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road in Chattanooga.
