Marlene Ann Franklin, 82, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2020 in Wichita Falls. She was born on October 15, 1937 in Portage, PA to the late Alston J. Huey and Salome Yoder Jones Huey. In 1942 she and her family moved to Rome, NY. On November 7, 1968 she married James “Jim” L. Franklin in Pamelia, NY. In 1970, Jim was transferred to Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls where they retired. Jim preceded her in death in 2015. Marlene was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Harry Clapper.
She is survived by her children, Lanna Patterson and Donald Baber of Randlett, OK, Debbie and Tommy Schroeder of Holliday, TX and Jeff and Glenda Little of Iowa Park, TX; grandchildren, Jennifer and Graham Wood, Kristen Rooney, Danielle Schroeder, Courtney Little, Abbey Williams and Jason Little; great grandchildren, Raina Rooney, Lexi Rooney, Kane Rooney, Caitlyn Hopper, Jake Wood, Berkeley Wood, Houston Wood and C.J. Wood; siblings, Joyce and Bill Heinzlmier, Betty Clapper, Sandra Casadei and Joe Gawarecki, Joe and Patty Huey, Ronnie and Lynn Huey and Terry Huey; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Howie and Gloria Franklin; feline friend “son”, Dozer Franklin, who she absolutely adored; special friends, Gary and Jackie Swett, Evelyn Cunningham and Bill and Janet Little.
Marlene worked civil service for many years. She loved her children, family, bingo, casino, soap operas, daily word puzzles and sitting having breakfast with Jim “Honey”.
