Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Cox, age 80 of McDonough, Georgia passed away March 23, 2020. She was born in Milledgeville, Georgia to the late Harold Thomas Bond. Sr. and Harriet Elizabeth Stevens Bond. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Hubert Cox, Jr. and by a sister, Shelby Manley. She received her nursing degree from the Piedmont Nursing School. After graduation she worked at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. She put her career on hold long enough to raise her children and then went on to work at Westbury Medical Care Home in McDonough for 29 years. She loved her Westbury family and they loved her. Betty was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church, where she loved her church family. She had a very strong faith in God and believed in his Holy power. Nana had a sincere interest in people's well being and was an encourager to all. She loved to spend time with her family and grandkids and friends, socializing, trips to the beach, attending to her flower gardens and was an avid reader. Survivors include her children, Jeff Cox and Brooke (Matthew) Echols; grandchildren, Nathan (Caroline) Echols, Trevor (Charly) Cox, Katelyn (Brandon) Dwyer and Ethan Echols; great grandchildren, Pierson and Peyton Cox; siblings, Harold "Skip" (Linda) Bowling of California and Patricia Blizzard of Lilburn; several nieces and nephews.
