Ronald served in the United States Army and fought courageously in the Korean War. Ronald earned many medals and among them were the bronze star medal with valor. On October 10, 1955 Ronald married Theresa Richard and they spent the next sixty-five years together before his passing. Ronald served in the Bohemia Fire Department on Long Island, New York for 18 years, becoming a captain for Engine Company #2.
He retired from working for the Connetquot school district and moved to Georgia to be close to family. He enjoyed many woodworking projects and gardening in his spare time. He often would make pens to give to his family and friends, played pool, played softball, and bowled into his sixties.
A memorial service to honor Mr. Ronald Montroy will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 9:30AM from the Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 5, 2020 from 9:00 AM until the service begins. Along with Theresa, Ronald is survived by his sons, Ronald and Gregg; daughters, Pamela and Karen; sister, Donna; twelve grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
