Don was a soft spoken and very caring son, father and friend. He was a very kind man to all people. Many considered him more like family not just a friend. I am sure his relationships with others felt the same.
This man was a true friend in all sense of the matter. He and Dennis have been friends for at least 45 year. In their earliest memory, Don was there in good times and bad with unconditional love a brother-friend shares. He has been part of our family for many years. As a family we enjoyed numerous Christmas, Easter, and birthday celebrations together. As well as, camping trips and many nights around a bonfire.
Thank you so much to Terri for staying by his side through his days at home. We will be forever grateful. Love and many hugs to you sweet lady.
To the Pasqua Hospital staff on 3B for helping us and Don through this difficult time.... for the love and compassion that was given; words can't say enough.
To the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic, from beginning to the end, for keeping the smiles and gentle hands. It made the time there so much more comfortable.
To the staff at the Indian Head Hospital, Don would often convey to us how friendly and helpful you all were. It was important for him to be closer to home and you all made him so comfortable and cared for. (When we were visiting with him or on the phone and was pretty close to meal time he would always say, "gotta go now, my meal is here". He did enjoy the good meals you made.)
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Indian Head Hospital Foundation.
In contributing to the memory of Don, help your fellow man; your neighbour. Be kind. Be understanding. Have empathy.
Take care my friend. May warm winds follow you where you go.
