Donna June Dunnavan, 91, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away peacefully Friday morning, June 19, 2020, at Alden Debes. She was born June 29, 1928 in Wesley, Iowa to Amos and Delpha Pearl (Heifner) Krominga.
Donna “Junebug" married the love of her life, Delois “Doc” Dunnavan on Dec. 24, 1947 in Deming, New Mexico. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, having been sealed for eternity to her husband, Delois, in the Chicago Temple.
Donna worked many years for the Amerock Corp. retiring from there.
She enjoyed walking, crossword and cryptoquote puzzles, starting her mornings doing them. Donna enjoyed cooking and baking for her family for picnics and special occasions. She is lovingly remembered for her delicious toffee squares, ribs, scalloped corn and strawberry jello dessert. She was an avid Chicago Bulls fan. Basketball was her game!
Donna is loved and will be missed by her children, Deborah Dunnavan, Denise Black(Duane), Daniel (Nancy), 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren with another arriving in August. Also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Maryann Krominga and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donna was a ray of sunshine to those around her, ever optimistic and hopeful. She is predeceased by her parents, brothers and sisters, husband Delois, son David, grandson Daniel and many relatives and loved ones.
